 An attractive
and easy-to-navigate site dedicated
mainly to the works of the author, but
with many useful links and comments. The
fact that it is very pink and has, as one
of its sub-headings, write like a
girl might lead to the impression
that its mainly directed at women.
But theres something here for
everyone, including author interviews,
book reviews and a very useful directory
of U.K. and U.S. agents. And anyone who
has ever submitted to an agent will
empathise with the wry sentiments
expressed on the agents page!

 At
ARKST I offer MS appraisal to writers
looking for publication. I am prepared to
look at MS or the first three chapters.
In either instance I ask for a synopsis
of the work on one side of A4 ( double
spaced). In return the writer receives a
report of around 2000 words covering,
genre, style, plot, characterisation,
grammar and syntax etc I regularly read
MSS for the Authors Club annual First
novel Award and am happy to say that of
the works I have recommended for the
short list I have picked three that won
the award. James Willis.
