We publish
around a dozen new authors in print form each year. Our requirements
for publishing new authors in print form are:
1. That their
work is of a suitable standard.
2. That their
work contains no offensive material. (Profanities excepted.)
3. That their
work is commercially viable.
2. That they
are willing and able to help promote their work.
More authors will fit these requirements than we can handle in
print form. The time, effort and money necessary to publish an
author in traditional format are limited and so we can only
accept authors whose books we are sure will sell well. We are
not vanity publishers. When we decide to publish and support an
author we pay all the publishing and associated costs ourselves,
charging the author nothing. We make our money by taking a
percentage of the sales of each book. For this reason we only
back authors who we believe have the ability, bullheadedness and
confidence to succeed.
We can Publish your book in
electronic format
Electronic books, or
eBooks, use a display technology called
e-paper, making reading from them as natural, easy and comfortable
as reading from a book. They do not feel like reading from a
computer screen; indeed no computer is required. EBook owners can
download direct from Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble and all
major and specialist booksellers, to their device and begin reading
immediately. No service plans, annual contracts, or monthly wireless
bills. EBook owners can download books as often or as rarely as they
like, only paying for whatever they download. These eBooks can be
far cheaper than regular books and before purchasing, the eBook
owner has the opportunity to read the opening pages. They can try
before they buy.

Unlike
traditional publishing, there are few constraints on the
number and type of eBooks we can publish. Is your book targeted at a
niche market? Is it outside the usually accepted genres? Is it a family
history? Or simply a bit odd? Have you been turned down by
traditional publishers for not being commercial enough? If so, and
provided your work is well written, free from offensive material,
and meets our terms and conditions, we will be happy to publish it
in eBook form. This exciting new format means that we can quickly
make your work available for sale on Amazon, Waterstones, Barnes &
Noble, Stanza, Tesco on-line and all major outlets.
We make no
up-front charges for any of our e-publishing services. As with our
traditional print publishing, we recoup our outlay by charging a
percentage of sales. However, there are a few limitations to
e-publishing. EBooks tend to be cheaper than print, so royalty
payments are less per copy.
Also, eBooks may not be the best medium in which to
produce highly graphic material, at least not yet. They are most
suited to fiction. The plus side is
that eBooks are quickly and freely available to authors and their
readers. Once you are published, browsers may search on any keyword
or subject and may stumble across your book by chance. Prospective
purchasers can download sample pages from your work. If they like it
they can purchase instantly. It’s as simple as that.
Whichever method of publishing you choose to try for, it is important that your work is of the
highest possible standard This will not only afford you the
best chance of being accepted for publication, but will make
your work more appealing to readers. No one will want a book full
of mistakes, no matter how interesting the subject. And a bad
name spreads as quickly as a good one. We want to get you a good
name. This is
where our critique service can help you.
We
